About Me
Started on "Beach Radio" as a beach DJ at 17 in 1965. First real radio job at Tamworth (Australia's Country Music Capital) in 1969. Then worked at several stations as Morning Drive announcer, Journalist and Salesperson (sometimes all of these jobs at the one station) Our first ownership was Deniliquin in 1982. Sold to Wangaratta in 2002 but retained share of the whole company. Purchased Longreach 2003 (sold 2012) and and Broken Hill in 2003 (sold 2007). Bought majority share holding of Deniliquin/Wangaratta in 2013. Sold shareholding to Ace Radio Broadcasters in late 2017 and took on role of Network Consultant. Married to Ann ( who has worked tirelessly with me) for almost 47 years. We have 3 grown up children and 5 granddaughters. I have been in Rotary for 36 years and was made Paul Harris Fellow in 2005.
My Market
Ace Radio has 17 radio stations in Southern New South Wales and regional Victoria Australia. Most of these depend heavily on farming. Wheat, barley, corn, fruit, almonds and rice are grown. Sheep, cattle and dairying are also prominent. Tourism is important especially along the rivers. Food processing is also important. Farm machinery dealers and machinery manufacturing and repairs also feature. There are also four capital city radio stations. One is owned by Ace 3MP in Melbourne and the others one each in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane are operated under a leasing agreement.

Stations are owned by Rowly and Judy Paterson. They started in radio in 1984 and now employ over 200 people.
