About Me
Randal J. Miller is a 1973 graduate of Shelbyville, IL High School, and a 1975 graduate of Lake Land College, Mattoon, Illinois, with an associate degree in applied science with a radio-television broadcasting major.
Miller was employed at Illinois radio stations in Shelbyville, Sullivan, and Litchfield, before building his first radio station in Virden at age 26.
Miller has built or purchased 16 radio stations over the past 40 years thru-out central and northwest Illinois.
Miller current owns and operates 8 radio stations—6 based in Taylorville where he resides, and 2 in Clinton, all in Illinois.
Miller married the former Cathaleen Davis in 1977. They have 3 children—Michelle, Ramey and Sheri, who have all been involved in the radio stations over the years. They also have 4 grandchildren.
Miller has been and is very involved in community and church activities. He is currently serves as publicity chairman for the Taylorville Chillifest; is a member of the Taylorville Kiwanis Club and serves as the club’s publicity chairperson; is a board member of the Christian County Economic Development Corporation; serves as chairman of the Lake Land College Radio-TV Advisory Board; and is a board member of the Christian County CEO program.
He is a member of the Decatur First Church of the Nazarene, where he is a member of the praise and worship band.
He’s a member of the International Broadcasters Idea Bank (since 1993), the Illinois Broadcasters Association, and the Radio Advertising Bureau.
