About Me
Not much to say about me. I'm a second generation radio guy. I've been in a couple of bigger markets, but spent the lion's share of my time in broadcast....right here in Elko. My desk now is about ten feet from where my first studio chair used to sit. I'm sure I have forgotten more about radio than I ever knew. I am a dinosaur and my staff will agree. These 12 hour work weeks are getting kind of grueling. I've been thinking of cutting back to single digits.
My Market
Elko is The Center of the Freakin' Universe. Way too many radio stations and a whole lot of really bad attitudes. The sun shines nearly every day and we don't have tornadoes or hurricanes. It's too hot in the summer. Too cold in the winter. We have more bars than churches and four or five legal brothels downtown. All in all....not a bad place to do business.
My Stations
I have four stations in Elko and one more in Winnemucca, an even smaller town 125 miles west of here.
KELK - AM & FM Elko's original radio station, built in 1948. LRN's Mix, Adult Contemporary with lots of local news.
KLKO - FM Jack FM format
KRJC - FM Elko's first FM radio station...purchased by EBC in 2018. LRN's Superstar Country format.
KEAU - FM Fox Sports talk format
KWNA - FM Winnemucca's heritage county station...purchased by EBC in 2019. LRN's Superstar Co0untry format
Oh yeah...along with several other Idea Bank members, I'm a very small share holder in Star 94.3 in Hawaii.
