About Me
A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, my early career was in programming and engineering with my last on air position being the morning show host on Sacramento's #1 Top 40 station. Moving on to management, I ran stations in Northern and Central California, Montana and Wyoming. I built KEWB-Redding, CA from the ground up, had partial ownership in four other California stations and full ownership of three stations in my current hometown of Casper Wyoming. I've held every position in radio and have served as Market Manager/Director of Sales in small and medium sized markets for the last 25. I've proudly served on many local community and broadcast industry boards including the IdeaBank, California, Montana and Wyoming Broadcast Associations.
I've been married to my fantastic wife Anna (Bama) for 43 years and love that my adult kids Bobby and Alison and grandson Jackson have all successfully settled in Casper. We spend a lot of time camping and boating enjoying the recreational opportunities in Wyoming. I'm still a fan of all Bay Area sports teams, the UW Cowboys and my alma mater San Jose State University.
My Market
Casper is the second-largest city in Wyoming with a population of 59,000 and 80,000 in the immediate area. Casper is nicknamed "The Oil City" and has a long history of oil boomtown and cowboy culture, dating back to development of the nearby Salt Creek Oilfield.
Casper is located in east-central Wyoming at the foot of Casper Mountain, the north end of the Laramie Mountain Range, along the North Platte River. Cheyenne, Denver, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Devil’s Tower and Mt. Rushmore are a short drive away.
The city was established east of the former site of Fort Casper, which was built during the mid-19th century mass migration of land seekers along the Oregon, California and Mormon trails. The town of Casper itself was founded well after the fort had been closed by developers as an anticipated stopping point during the expansion of the Wyoming Central Railway. Casper is home to the National Trails Museum.
Gillette, Wyoming is known as the "Energy Capitol of the Nation" rich in oil, coal and rare earth minerals. The town was founded in 1891 as a major railway town on the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad. It's location on I-90 makes it a favorite stop for tourists visiting Devils Tower, Yellowstone and Teton National Parks, the Black Hills of South Dakota and Mt. Rushmore.
Spearfish, South Dakota sits in the Northern Black Hills. The Spearfish Canyon area boasts some of the best fly-fishing opportunities in all of South Dakota, with multiple pools and rapids along Spearfish Creek. It also boasts a bounty of hiking and biking trails, providing numerous opportunities to take in the sights and sounds of the Black Hills.
