About Me
I started working in radio in high school at KIJV in Huron, SD. I graduated early with plans to become a teacher, but I was offered a fulltime position at the radio station. From there I went to Watertown, SD for a short while, then back to Huron. In 1999 I moved to Storm Lake, Iowa to help launch KKIA. In 2001 we moved to Pella, Iowa. 2002 to Norfolk, Nebraska. In 2005 I took a position as Sales Manager for Three Eagles (45 minutes south in Columbus)
We moved to Sioux Falls, SD in 2006 where I started a production company (we had clients in 49 states) and eventually bought an AM Daytime in 2010. At the same time we launched, we also added an FM Translator. A few years later we bought another AM station in Sioux City, Iowa (one hour south of us) and added an FM Translator there as well. When we realized that we were providing content for these two stations... we decided to see if any other stations would benefit from the voice tracked shows. The answer was YES! We now have somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 stations running content from us (www.CloudcastRadio.com)
We still operate the station in Sioux Falls, but we sold the stations in Sioux City a few years ago.
In addition to the radio station, we also have some online properties that are revenue streams.
My Market
Sioux Falls, SD is the largest city in South Dakota. (local population of 181,000, with a metro population of 277,00)
We have a few big healthcare companies that employ many, and call centers for many major companies are based here. Amazon has recently opened a new distribution center, they need more people than we currently have available here. We're trying to help recruit people with a new campaign for a site we own and promote on our national syndication network.... www.MoveToSD.com

KZOY-AM 1520 (FM 93.3) - The only locally owned radio station in the market
We were an "ALL 80's HITS" format for about 9 years.... we recently added early 90s as well. Our slogan is "Faith... Freedom... and the Best Music of the 80s & 90s!"
We do almost all of our business with local companies... the only national ads we have on are barter ads for some of our content.
We have put a major focus on RELATIONSHIPS!
We do not make our clients commit to a long-term plan, instead we commit to them. We give them the same rate for as long as they stay on. (some have been with us since the launch in 200) We continue that commitment by pledging to work with just one business per category, so we can give our clients 100% of our attention and effort in their category. THAT HAS BEEN WONDEFUL! and we give our best clients some added value with "Auto-Fill" ads to keep our breaks all 100% full. This gives the clients extra frequency to get better results quicker!
