About Me
My grandfather started KWLM in 1940 and I am the 3rd generation of our family involved in the radio business. I started in 1972, programming and selling our FM station in Willmar. AM was king and there was not much support for what we were doing. With few FM radios in cars, our first promotion was to sell FM converters installed under the dashboard. We offered free installation on Saturday mornings at a local electronics shop. While people waited, they listened to our new music station on high quality stereo systems and quickly became fans. Our purpose has always been to inform, entertain and connect with people in our local communities and still is! Our company has been sold and I will continue membership with Emeritus status.
